The Canggu Food Guide to Best Food in Bali

SHARE

There is no secret Canggu is well known for its delicious food and an array of choices for artisan-lattes and smoothie bowls. But which places are an absolute MUST if you are in Bali for as little as 3 days? Revealing my ultimate favorite cafes and restaurants in the Canggu food guide below!

Crate Cafe

We drove past Crate Cafe almost every day, until one day (thankfully soon enough) we decided to stop just because we saw so many motorcycles parked in front every time. We then ate at Crate so many times, I lost count! Their all-day-breakfast-inspired menu has something for everyone and if you think these gigantic portions will break your bank – they won’t. Affordable, yummy, and big portions – can’t go wrong! If I would be forced to choose one place to go to all week – this would be it.

Address: Jl. Canggu Padang Linjong No.49, Canggu, Open every day 06:00 – 16:30

Fav dish: Falafel on toast. ‘Waddup’ on the menu.

Milk & Madu

If you make it past the baked goods at the entrance, then you’re in for an even bigger treat inside. Their brunch, lunch, and 2 for 1 pizza on Sundays are just some of the things that made us come back for more. But the lamb wrap and chicken burger were our favorites.

Address: Jl. Pantai Berawa No.52, Tibubeneng, Open every day 07:00 – 22:00

Fav dish: The chicken burger.

Lola’s Shaking All Day

Canggu’s most Instagram ‘inspired’ cafe award definitely goes to Lola’s Shaking All Day. Pink oasis with a good vibe and super-photogenic food, which actually tastes good. I heard their smoothies are amazing too, but I’ll have to find out next time!

Address: Jalan Padang Linjong 78A, Open every day 08:00 – 16:00

Fav dish: Smoothie bowls.

The Shady Shack

Rice field views, chill music, and true Canggu vibe. The name of the place really does describe it so well! Vegans, this will be your spot – even the cakes are animal-friendly and you will probably want to take some to-go. Besides food, the smoothies were refreshing and tasty as well. I ordered a forest smoothie and with every one of these sold, 50% of the profits go to planting a tree or protecting one acre of rainforest. Love a great initiative!

Address: Jl. Tanah Barak 53, Canggu, Open every day 07:30 – 22:30

Fav dish: Jackfruit tacos.

The Loft

I am still, to this day, so happy that I was in a mood for something we usually cook at home. We ordered creamy pasta and chicken stroganoff and literally came back here 3 more times for these dishes and a couple more for others. The food here tastes like heaven and is one of the rare places in Canggu, which are great for both lunch and dinner as the menu goes a little beyond the usual all-day breakfast offers you see in most places. We tried both the Canggu and Uluwatu locations and would say Canggu was slightly better.

Fav dish: Chicken Stroganoff.

Kynd Community

Technically, Kynd is a little out of Canggu, but I felt it would just be wrong to leave this place out when it’s so close. The best smoothie bowl (and the prettiest, they put my name on it!!) I had in Bali was here. The ingredients were so good and the portion so big I needed help eating it. PS: This place is worth the hype.

Address: Jl. Petitenget No.12, Open every day 06:00 – 22:00

Fav dish: Green & Grind smoothie bowl.

El Crudo

El Crudo is THE place to go if you want to have a good burrito. I haven’t tried anything else on the menu, because I couldn’t justify coming here (we ate here about 5 times) and not ordering this yummy creation. A must! PS: their smoothies are also delicious, I loved Pink Lady.

Address: Jl. Padang Linjong No.7, Canggu, , Open every day 08:00 – 22:00 (Mo0nday’s from 11:00)

My Warung Pasar Petitenget

Okay so we are technically in Seminyak now, but you can’t miss this place when you visit Canggu. It’s a short motorbike drive away and the ultimate jungle paradise in the middle of the touristy Seminyak. The food was so delicious here and it’s really worth ordering a few different dishes to share. The Bali chicken and the rice were absolutely mouth-watering.
