North Bali is full waterfalls, temples, rice terraces and beautiful nature. No matter if you only have a day to see this part of the island or if you just want to see our favorites, the below locations will surely leave you speechless.

1. TABLINGAN LAKE

Set your alarm to 4am, get ready, hop on your scooter and start driving North from your Canggu/Kuta/Seminyak accommodation. It will take you roughly two hours to get to Lake Tamblingan. Wear warm clothes for the ride and get ready to take some amazing pictures at sunrise.

2. HANDARA GATE

It’s now around 8am and after a 20 minute ride from the lake, you arrived at Handara Gate. The gate is an entrance to a Golf Club and therefore conveniently located just by the main road. You will need to pay a ‘Selfie Ticket’ fee of IDR 30k if you want to take pictures here.. I know, ridiculous – but what can you do! You only need about 15 minutes here, but bear in mind it can get a little crowded in high season. We were there in the same time and only saw one more couple.

3. ULUN DANU BERATAN TEMPLE

After your visit at the Handara Gate, it only took you 10 minutes to get to this famous temple and a true Bali wonder. It is now roughly 8.30 am and you are likely to spend about an hour here, but it all depends on just how much you want to see around the temple.

4. LEKE LEKE WATERFALL

All that exploring and walking… just in time for a refreshing waterfall visit. And this one was our Bali favorite! After driving 30 minutes from the temple to the parking of the waterfall, it is now around 10am. First you will pay an entrance fee of IDR 30k and then you are ready to start your short and easy hike down towards the waterfall. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit! You can easily spend over an hour here. Depending on how much you like to bathe.

5. JATILUWIH RICE TERRACES

It’s now around 11.30 and you just arrived to Jatiluwih Rice Terraces. You must be getting hungry and you’re in luck! There are plenty of restaurants with a great rice terrace view here. Fuel up, enjoy the view and get started with a walk through the paddies. These were our favorite rice terraces in whole of Bali – we visited them twice!

6. PURA LUHUR BATUKARU

This temple is the perfect finish to this amazing North Bali adventure. It’s calm and shaded and exactly what you needed after spending some time walking in the sun around the rice fields. Park your scooter, pay the entrance fee, wrap the sarong around your waist and get lost in the jungle. Not literally 😉
